  History and Organization

Spawning organizations of the Franconia Energy Team are:

Clean Air - Cool Planet
The Carbon Coalition
The Franconia Select Board

The FET was born following passage of the resolution that was passed at the 2007 Franconia Town Meeting expressing Franconians' belief that climate change caused by greenhouse gas emissions must be actively addressed at both the National and local levels.*  With the encouragement of the Franconia Select Board, the Core Group of the Franconia Energy Team came together through the second half of 2007.

* Clean Air - Cool Planet - Town Meeting Campaign.

The Regional Projects the Franconia Energy Team undertook in partnership with the Town Energy Committees of Bethlehem and Littleton, and individuals representing Easton and Sugar Hill, in April and November 2008, were so successful the Team chose to make that coalition permanent and expandable as the Ammonoosuc Regional Energy Team.

The Franconia Energy Team worked in close relationship with the Franconia Select Board. This Ammonoosuc Regional Energy Team will continue to work in close relationship with the Franconia Select Board, but also with other regional Town Select Boards through Team members representing their Town.
